The Good Stuff - Kenny Chesney
Well, me and my lady had our first big fight
So i drove around 'till i saw the neon lights of a corner bar
And it just seemed right so i pulled up.
Not a soul around but the old barkeep down at the end looking half asleep
But he woke up and said "what it'll be" i said "the good stuff"
He didn't reach around for the whiskey, he didn't pour me a beer.
His blue eyes kinda went misty he said "you can't find that here"
Cuz it's the first long kiss on the second date.
Mamas all worried when you get home late.
And droping the ring in the spaghetti plate because your hands are shaking so much.
And it's the way that she looks with rice in her hair
And eating burnt suppers the whole first year and asking for seconds to keep her from tearing up.
Yeah man thats the good stuff
He grabed a carton of milk and poured a glass,
I smiled and said "i'll have some of that" and we sat their and talk as an hour past like old friends.
I saw a black and white picture and he cought my stare, it was a pretty girl with blue fine hair.
He said "thats my bonnie taken bout a year after we wed"
He said "i spent five years in a bar when the cancer took her from me but i been sober for three years now,
Cuz the one things stronger than the whiskey is the site of her holding my baby girl.
The way she adored that string of pearls i gave her the day i'll youngest boy Earl married his highschool love.
It's a new T-shirt saying i am a grandpa, been right there as i'll time got small and holding her hand when the good lord called her up.
yeah man thats the good stuff
He said" when get home she'll start to cry when she says she's sorry say "so am i" and look into those eyes so deep in love and drink it up cuz thats the good stuff.
